Important Dates
When it comes to Medicare, there are many different important dates during the year that you need to be aware of as follows:
October 15 – December 7, 2013
The Medicare Open Enrollment Period begins. During the Open Enrollment Period, a Medicare beneficiary can select a plan for 2014.
January 1 – February 14, 2013
The Medicare Annual Disenrollment Period (MADP) begins. During the MADP, a Medicare beneficiary can only disenroll from a Medicare Advantage plan and enroll in Original Medicare and select a Prescription Drug Plan if they choose. Medicare beneficiaries cannot switch Medicare Advantage plans during the MADP, nor can individuals with Original Medicare use the MADP to join a Medicare Advantage plan.
