Medicare Star Quality Rating System
SummaCare has earned a 4.5 Star rating for 2012 from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This is based on our performance in key areas such as customer service, wellness, disease management and responsiveness. Click here to learn more about this rating. National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA) - Accreditation
SummaCare holds the highest accreditation of "Excellent" from NCQA for Medicare HMO/POS products. NCQA is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality. The accreditation survey evaluates the systems and processes that make up a health plan, as well as the actual results the plan achieves in key aspects of care, service and efficiency.
NCQA Health Insurance Plan Rankings
SummaCare is among the highest-ranked Medicare plans in Ohio in NCQA's Medicare Health Insurance Plan Rankings, 2011-2012. SummaCare's Medicare plan is ranked number two in Ohio and 42nd nationally.
Medicare and You 5-Star Rating
SummaCare is the only Medicare Advantage plan in the state's Eastern region to receive a 5-star rating from CMS in its annual Medicare and You publication.
Health Industries Research Company
SummaCare is the only plan recognized in Ohio by the Health Industries Research Company as a health plan with the "Most Effective Disease Management Programs" for asthma, heart failure and diabetes.
